Wesley enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, kayaking, scuba diving, camping and weight lifting. He also served 20 years as a chaplain for the Kay County Jail. Wesley also served on the board of the Ponca City Parks and Recreation, the Oklahoma Jail and Prison Ministries and was President of the Kay County Jail Trust Authority, in which he was very involved in the planning and development of the new jail. Wesley served on the board of the YMCA and was instrumental in its planning and development. He was a draft/design engineer and worked for Mertz Manufacturing, Inc. Wesley was born on October 21, 1953, in Ponca City, to Calvin Carl and Marcene Marie (Mead) Young.
